Creating ripples of hope by empowering communities, strengthening livelihoods, and protecting the most vulnerable.

Who We Are

Nankya Galiwango Foundation (NGF) is a community-based organisation in Uganda dedicated to empowering women, youth, and vulnerable families through practical, community-led solutions.

We work at the heart of communities to improve education outcomes, promote health and wellbeing, strengthen livelihoods, protect children, and support collective action for a safer and more self-reliant future.

Our approach is simple but powerful: when communities lead, change lasts.

About us

The foundation was born from the life and legacy of Nankya Galiwango Edith, a respected head teacher in Luwero District whose life was rooted in service and a deep belief in education.

After her passing in 2021, her family chose not to mourn in silence—but to act.

From 2022, they began annual charity drives supporting vulnerable school children with essential supplies. What started as remembrance grew into impact—restoring dignity, improving school attendance, and bringing hope to families.

By 2025, this vision evolved into a structured, sustainable effort:
Nankya Galiwango Foundation (NGF)—a movement committed to lasting change across communities.
